Tip from the Pros

Having trouble with your distance control from 100 yards and in?  Here is a simple solution to your problems.  Go to your local driving range early in the morning when there are not many people.  Go on to the range and mark off yardages starting at 30 yards to about 80 yards with a marker every 10 yards.  Then start hitting wedge shots with your Pitching Wedge, Gap Wedge, and Sand Wedge with a clock in mind.  With each club take your back swing (arm position, not club) back to where the 7 o’clock position on a clock would be and gauge the average of that distance with that particular club and write it on a piece of masking tape and place it on the shaft of your club (example, 7 o’clock swing with Sand Wedge goes 30 yards, 9 o’clock Sand Wedge goes 60 yards etc).  Also do this with the 9 o’clock position in mind with each wedge and by doing this you will more effectively fill in those gaps inside of 100 yards, and lower your scores.
