We take pride in announcing that at the annual meeting of the Dakota Chapter of the Minnesota Section of the PGA, two members of the Fargo Park District golf staff were honored with very distinctive awards.
Chris Larson, PGA – 2025 Dakota Chapter PGA Golf Professional of the Year
Chris Larson, PGA, has been named the 2025 Minnesota Section Dakota Chapter PGA Golf Professional of the Year – one of the highest honors the Association can bestow. The award recognizes outstanding leadership, promotion of the game, professional image, service, and longevity in the golf industry which are all qualities that define Chris’s career.
Chris serves as the Head Golf Professional at Osgood Golf Course in Fargo, North Dakota, where he has created one of the region’s most engaging and community-driven golf environments. Known for his innovative programming, player development initiatives, and passion for teaching, Chris has made golf more accessible and enjoyable for players of all ages and abilities.
A Class A PGA Member since 2013, Chris has been a leader within the Minnesota Section and Dakota Chapter, exemplifying the professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm that define this prestigious award.
Award criteria:
Golf Professional of the Year: One of the highest honors an association can bestow. Criteria to be considered for this award are leadership, promotion of the game of golf, responsibilities at
a facility, image and longevity as a Golf Professional.
Gunnar Mogck, PGA Associate & Assistant Golf Professional – 2025 Dakota Chapter PGA Assistant Professional of the Year
A PGA Associate and Assistant Golf Professional at Edgewood Golf Course, Gunnar is currently in his second year as the Lead Assistant. A former hockey player turned competitive golfer, Gunnar brings a unique perspective to the game, helping players of all backgrounds build on their existing skills and develop solid fundamentals.
He was honored as the 2025 Dakota Chapter PGA Assistant Professional of the Year, a distinction awarded by the Dakota Chapter which is one of several regional chapters within the Minnesota Section PGA. The Dakota Chapter organizes educational programs, tournaments, awards, and professional networking opportunities for PGA Members and Associates.
The Minnesota PGA Section, which includes Minnesota, North Dakota, portions of South Dakota, and parts of western Wisconsin, works to promote the growth of golf, support PGA Professionals with education and resources, and foster opportunities for players and facilities throughout the region. The Dakota Chapter PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year Award, recognizes those who excel in teaching, service, and leadership within their clubs and communities.
With a strong focus on junior golf and multi-sport athletes, Gunnar enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities. His coaching style is approachable, engaging, and designed to make the game fun while promoting long-term improvement.
