Discover Junior Golf Tour

Beginning in 2026, the Discover Junior Golf Tour has joined forces with the Dakota Junior Golf Association (DJGA) to bring more tournaments, instruction, and fun to junior golfers ages 6–18.

This collaboration represents a major step forward for junior golf in eastern North Dakota. Events will now be operated as part of the official DJGA summer schedule, with professional staffing and tournament management provided by DJGA at Fargo Park District golf courses.

Youth Golf Instructional Programs

The Youth Golf Instructional Programs teaches youth ages 5-12 the basics of golf in group lessons with a maximum 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio. We have two summer sessions that run June 8–25 and July 6-23.

LEVEL 1
(5-7 years of age)

LEVEL 1 – ACTIVE START (5-7 YEARS OF AGE)

Active Start is an entry level program designed for youth with little or no golf experience. The class will meet for a 45-minute lesson two times a week. Using the oversized and bright colored SNAG (Starting New At Golf) equipment, the youth will be taught a simplified approach to learning the game of golf. This six-lesson junior program covers basic fundamentals, etiquette, rules of the game and concludes with a team scramble event on the El Zagal short course.

SNAG golf equipment will be provided for participants.

LEVEL 1+

LEVEL 1+ - ACTIVE START + (5-7 YEARS OF AGE)

Active Start+1 is an entry level program designed for youth with little or no golf experience. The class will meet for a 45-minute lesson two times a week. In this six-lesson program, juniors will be using real golf clubs rather than the SNAG golf equipment. The youth will be taught a simplified approach to learning the game of golf. It covers basic fundamentals, etiquette, rules of the game and concludes with a team scramble event on the El Zagal short course. New golfers in this age group may benefit from participating in Active Start before enrolling in Active Start+1.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own golf equipment, though limited golf equipment is available

LEVEL 2
(7-12 years of age)

FUNdamentals is the follow-up to Level 1 and Level 1+. This level is designed for participants with or without prior golf experience. This class will meet for a 50-minute lesson two times a week. This six-lesson junior golf program for beginners focuses on making the fundamentals fun through simple teaching points, drills and games. Participants are encouraged to bring their own golf equipment, though limited golf equipment is available.
